Please join us in Los Angeles for our 3rd PFSM meeting facilitating a multi-disciplinary collaboration among therapists and physicians working in the pelvic floor/sexual medicine health care arena. The goal of PFSM is to share experiences and education with providers whose practice includes treatment of the pelvic floor and whose patients have sexual health concerns. In this fashion, we will improve health care to patients who have sexual health problems and pelvic floor dysfunction. ALL DISCIPLINES WELCOME!!

Deena Goodman PT owns Goodman Physical Therapy in West Los Angeles and treats men and women for pelvic pain and pelvic floor dysfunctions. She is a Board Certified Women’s Health Clinical Specialist, and Certified Allied Health Professional in Integrative Body Psychotherapy. She will discuss clinical training techniques for anorgasmia including movement patterns to facilitate orgasm.

Jenni Gabelsberg PT owns Women’s Advantage, Inc in Torrance dedicated to treating female and male pelvic floor and sexual dysfunctions. She is a Board Certified Women's Health Clinical Specialist, and Faculty of the Herman Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute where she teaches nationally. She will discuss the role of physical therapy in pelvic floor and sexual dysfunctions.

Peggy G. Miller MFT is in private practice and affiliated with the Rosenberg-Kitaen Integrative Body Psychotherapy Institutes where she teaches sexuality courses. She is an IBP Certified Practitioner and Certified Teacher and will discuss sexual development, themes and patterns which are tracked from early childhood to the present, and the Sexual Scenario, a somatic sexual history intake.

Andrea Rapkin MD, professor of OB/GYN and director of the UCLA pelvic pain program will discuss management of vulvodynia. She and Dr John McDonald, Professor of OB/GYN and Anesthesiology at Harbor- UCLA will discuss their studies of local anesthetic nerve blocks.

New: National Board Certification in Women's Health

Congratulations are in order for the select group of Physical Therapists who will be receiving national recognition in February 2010 for passing the first ever nationally recognized Women's Health Specialty exam taken last February 2009.

Deena Poll Goodman, PT, WCS, BCIA-PMDB is being recognized in February 2010 by the American Physical Therapy Association for being one of the first physical therapists to become a National Board Certified Specialist in Women's Health. The new title of WCS represents this high achievement and accomplishment. Deena is also Biofeedback Certified in Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction Biofeedback by the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America. Deena Goodman also specializes in the treatment of male pelvic floor and male pelvic health. Her next national speaking engagement is February 20, 2010 for the Combined Sections Meeting of the American Physical Therapy Association in San Diego, CA. The topic will be on Orgasms and Techniques to Successfully Treat Patients.
